Kat
I am originally from Germany and have been here in the USA for almost 25 yrs now. I have been fascinated with knitting and crocheting since I have been 5 yrs old. My Oma was a very patient but strict teacher and would unravel any tiny mistakes I made; that was well over four decades ago.
I am a process knitter and as long as I get to knit, I am a happy girl.
My favorite things to knit are my Voodoo Dolls (I do have to be in the mood though to make them, otherwise they do not turn out right).
Then comes socks and hats (Fisherman's keps and Tams are my go to) followed by sweaters, well T-shirts now, since I ended up living in the South. I also crochet and prefer Arigurumi and Doilies.
I am super excited about this Journey and hope to get to meet all of you in person.

Dirk (Sven)
The force behind this whole endeavor is my husband, Dirk.
A couple of months ago he finally got tired of me whining about not having a yarn store close by and said let's do it...tadaaaa and here we are.  You will definitely see him around the store quite frequently. Dirk is actually a knitter. He did try crochet but then decided knitting socks is his jam. (All the men in my family either knit or crochet, from my Dad to my brother, my husband and my three boys know how to). Dirk is also going to provide us with little accessories like customized labels and buttons. He is eagerly waiting for the landlord to be done, so him and his buddies can finish the store, ya know fixing drywall, painting, flooring, building shelves etc.

Heidi and Heather
No! You are not seeing double! We have a set of twins and don't worry we have name tags haha. If you confuse them anyways, no big deal, they are used to it!
Heidi (to the left) is one of our instructors. She will be able to teach you all things knitting and crocheting. “I'm thrilled to be teaching again and to be a part of a local creative community with friends!” She will also be in the shoppe to help you make project decisions. Heidi is a very experienced knitter and crocheter. She and her sister learned to knit as children more than 35 years ago, from their aunt and learned how to crochet in grade school. Heidi always has socks on needles and a blanket on a hook. And by the way she speed knits socks like nobody’s business!!! As an oilfield wife and mother of two boys, when she’s not at the shoppe you will find her spending time with her family and with her 3 ducks: Earl- He’s a jerk, Lemon Chica Darling, and Old Girl Mable.
Heather (to the right) works full-time as a Legal Secretary at a local law firm specializing in maritime law & personal injury. She will be in the shoppe to help plan your projects and fill phone and web orders.

“I’m excited to be apart of a local shoppe that is fostering community, learning & creativity." Heather is an experienced LEFT-HANDED knitter and crocheter. She’s been knitting for 35 plus years. Her aunt taught her to knit as a child and she taught herself to crochet.
When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her family and Mojo (The sweetest elderly dog in Abita) and Sheldon Cooper (aka: Dexter - sweet kitty boy).

Heather
Yes, we have two Heathers!

She is a wee bit incognito and due to her work she prefers to keep a low social media profile and we shall honor her wish.

But! I can tell you, her name is Heather.

Heather is my rock in the bureaucracy ocean. Her task will be more paperwork related, she is also an admin for Instagram, Facebook and eventually our website. You will see her around the shoppe as well.

We can always play a game called "Are you Heather?"

Heather loves to knit and crochet, she is been at it for a few years now.

I am excited to have her by my side.
